Ten years removed from the spotlight, John Hampson, writer and singer of the pop hit “Absolutely (Story of a Girl),” has crafted “My Fat Wallet,” a Wurlitzer-fueled paean to blue collar America. Hampson has said that 50 percent of the proceeds from the song, which is available on iTunes, will go towards Create Jobs for USA, a fund created to help stimulate job growth in America. “My Fat Wallet,” is the first single of Hampson’s upcoming EP No Fairy Tales, slated for a September release. The EP can be previewed via a four-part Webisode series on YouTube.
