I’ve never shied away from my love of country music, but that being written, I am not exactly embedded in the country music blogosphere, the country music spin cycle and anything else that’s relevant, so I never know who is hot, who is a surprise, who all the folks are talking about, and on and on. So forgive me for not getting the memo about Sunny Sweeney. But my word, have you heard her? Remeber all the reasons you loved Natalie Maines and the Dixie Chicks? Yeah, well that’s Sweeney. She’s also got a bit of a Kathleen Edwards vibe to satiate roots-rock, alt. country fans. And oh yes, she’s absolutely gorgeous. So if this is the first time you’ve heard her name, make sure it’s not the last. As of right now, there probably isn’t a more captivating female singer-songwriter in country music.
