Editor’s Note: This is an old post from January of this year, that sat in draft status and is finally going live. The band has been kicking it in my iTunes as of late, so I felt compelled to share the gospel with my beloved followers.
The Asteroids Galaxy Tour. Bad band name. Great sound. Lauded by Time Out New York, Spin and yours truly, the group offers an innovative version of funk, R&B, soul and pop and was even featured in an iPod commercial. Earlier this year, the group toured the U.S. for the first time, and to launch the tour, released a remix of first single “The Sun Ain’t Shining No More,” on RCRDLBL. For more details, head to the band’s Myspace. Musicians love to write songs that are effervescent, timeless and worry-free, but what The Asteroids Galaxy Tour does is something entirely different. This is effortless, crisp and absolutely impossible to hate.
